What Type of Home Buyer Are You Based on Your Hogwarts House?

Whether the Sorting Hat has placed you under Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin, there's always a house that suits you.

Here are some suggestions when looking for properties based on your Hogwarts House.

Ravenclaw motto: 'Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure'.

House recommendations for those under the House of Ravenclaw:

  • Homes tucked in hidden spots or located at the end of the street

  • Properties with bigger, wider yards or near nature preserves

  • Classic-style homes with fireplaces

Hufflepuff motto: ‘True and unafraid of toil’

House recommendations for those under the House of Hufflepuff:

  • Homes with access to sports facilities, walking trails, and community centers

  • Properties located near malls, schools, and other places that promote social gatherings

  • Houses with great-sized receiving areas where they can accommodate friends, family members, loved ones, and guests, especially during holidays

  • Beach properties

Slytherin motto: ‘Help you on your way to greatness’

House recommendations for those under the House of Slytherin:

  • Homes with access to learning centers, hobby centers, and sports training facilities

  • Properties located near animal rescue sanctuaries, zoos, and nature (plenty of green overall)

  • Houses with good-sized yards and flexi rooms

Gryffindor motto: ‘Courage, bravery, nerve, and chivalry’

House recommendations for those under the House of Gryffindor:

  • Those under this house are more adventurous. They are unafraid to try modern-style homes

  • A 1 bedroom and 1 bedroom property can be just as good as those that have 3 or more, they always make it work

  • Gryffindor home buyers always bring their sense of excitement whether it’s their first time or the nth time to buy a house. They are fun to have around during Open Houses, too.

Why March 2023 May Be the Best Time to Buy a Home

Did you know that March 2023 is your ideal time to buy your first home? Mortgage rates may have been higher at the start of the year for the general home-buying public, however, for many first-time home buyers, the overall rates are down.

Although there is no guarantee that prices will remain the same forever, more first-time home buyers are now able to purchase a home. Thanks to the government’s involvement, the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) mentioned in February that 30-year, fixed-rate conventional mortgage rates will begin, averaging at 6.85 percent.

The plan is to lower down the FHA MIP or annual mortgage insurance premiums by $300 annually for every $100,000 borrowed by FHA-backed homeowners.

The reduction should be about 0.30 percentage points, the first decrease in more than 8 years, and the third in the last 3 months.

Mortgage rates may seem higher from the beginning of the year, however, for most first-time home buyers, the rates are lower in general, making it the best time for new home buyers to start their journey to home ownership.
